Auto Trans HELP Please!!!
I got gutsy and tried to install a Trans Go shift kit in my 97 Auto trans. The trans was working perfectly before I touched it. Installing the shift kit itself in the vlave body was not bad at all. The problem came when I reinstalled the valve body. The Gear selector inside the car is horribly stiff. It takes TOO much strength to move it. It will move and the trans will engage in gears seemingly fine. I need help to know what I have messed up. Does any one have any experience with this? This is the only car I own that I care about and now I can't drive it. My life has reached a new low. Please help me.

You probably put the shift linkage back in wrong!!! You will have to take it back out(the VB) at least enough to fix it. The linkage has a flat spot, which should be facing against, not below the shift arm. If not, you will not be able to shift!!! DO NOT FORCE IT, OR YOU COULD BEND THE LINKAGE AND CAUSE DAMAGE!!! Take it apart and fix it, you will not have to pull the VB all the way out, just enough to move the linkage. The arm swings down, so if the linkage is on the bottom, and not the side, it has no where to go and you can't shift. I hope all this makes sense, Don't worry, I did the same damn thing and had to pour out 4 quarts of synthetic ATF to fix it Good luck.
