I'm looking to buy a tranny for my car and the places i called asked if my tranny has a locking diferential how do i know if my car has it or not. 96'SE 5 speed prodution date 5-95

Raise your hood.
Look for a shiny metal identification tag fastened to the passenger side of firewall.
The second row is the Vehicle Identification Number, starting with J.
The eighth row is transmission model information.

RS5F50A = open differential
RS5F50V = viscous limited slip differential

VLSD trannies are rare in the US market.
