Wierd Tranny Problem !!

Help! My A/T is screwed up. I have a '95 and have the usual mods (intake, Y-Pipe, cat-back,jet computer, ect..) anyway I hope someone can help. Here is what its doing: Whenever it first gets started it stalls when it gets put in gear. It dosn't matter whether its first or reverse or what. Also it seems to have a mind of its own on which gear it wants to go in when Im driving. (anywhere from 1-70 mph) It will jump in and out of drive into O/D or second on its own. Something is really messed up, if I have it in park and put it in neutral, the engine still wants to stall but dosn't. Hey, if anybody can help that would be great!

The Torque Converter has a lockup clutch which engages only in 4th gear and only in certain driving situations. When locked the normal slippage in the TC is eliminated and this improves highway fuel efficiency.

When the clutch is disengaged the torque converter serves as a fluid coupling, allowing the engine to idle even though the car isn't moving. Your symptoms could be caused by ...
- a TC Clutch which cannot unlock.
- a fault in the control valve assembly such as a piece of debris jammed in the TC Clutch lockup solenoid valve.
