to shave or not to shave...my a$$

Ok bored tomorrow, so clearing my tails and debating whether or not I should keep the back how it is, shave the maxima symbol, the nissan hamburger or both. Thanks in advance.

I would say shave it all and paint the keyhole so it wont stand out so much.

Definitely shave it all off. I love my 95 $E's naked ***. I need to paint the key hole though. Do you have pics of your lettering? I've never seen that. Also, is the hamburger the same color?

start by taking just the hamburger off. I think if you take everything off it looks dumb because there is so much open space on the trunk.

Shaved.

Good . Unmarked max. By the way my GT symbol is whats left of the cheap version of the GT R symbol. I like the way it makes people wonder about my car. What is that? Its my only emblem and it is soon to go. Hopefully when I get the Z3's!!

Deffently remove the hamburger and leave maxima sign on. I would recomend adding GTR emblem... I feel shaving all of the letters makes the trunk look naked empty. Let us know what you did..

After I shaved the emblem and the letters from my trunklid, I noticed my eye was drawn immediately to the double-wall 110mm stainless steel tip of my GReddy muffler. I keep it shined up real nice now...

your body colored gril is much better looking then those trenz grills, i already saw it on maxima on ave z before and didnt like how it looked. that was a white maxima with front clears and trenz grill.

My car is an UDO (Unidentified Driving Object). IMHO, it looks much better w/out the rear emblems. But then again, they were gold plated emblems so they had to go.

Shave it all!

I say go for it - one of the first things I did. This is all just my opinion, but here you go:

The top 10 reasons to shave your Maxima and Nissan trunk logos:

11. It will make your car 2 ounces lighter wich will help your 1/4 mile time by .0000001s. I'm just kidding, o.k., seriously, on to the top 10:

10. Because we CAN!! Be grateful we can even do it. Some cars like the Accord, have holes behind the emblyms.

9. Advertising sucks!

8. The M-A-X-I-M-A emblym is just way too large.

7. The Nissan hamburger isn't the best looking logo to begin with. A truly good logo doesn't need to say the manufacturer inside it like Nissan and Ford. Ex. Look at Lexus, Infiniti, Toyota, Acura, Mercedes, etc.

6. Anybody who knows cars, will still know it's a Maxima. If anybody needs to read Maxima to know you have a Maxima, they aren't worth letting know you had a Maxima in the first place. (Huh? what did I just say?)

5. It adds some mystery to your car. It makes people think for a second.

4. It is just way too much fun when you get a parking ticket at school and the Make/model reads 'Unknown'!

3. Chrome sucks! It is tacky and outdated. (Although yours are not chrome).

2. Be unique! Why look like every other non-customized Maxima out there? And even most customized Maximas for that matter!

1. And the number one reason... drum roll please... go for the CLEAN look!!

Now just make sure to paint the keyhole body color (or shave it - but that's expensive). Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Yes, I say shave it all.
But to each his own.
I painted the lock with the little bottle of body paint I got from the dealer.
Had to - once I shaved it became much to "important".
I also tinted the tail lights.
Still waiting for the gloss coat.
Here's a pic for reference.

Yes you can put it back on.
You need thin double-sided foam tape
- like what it was put on with.
