Help me Please! FSTB

I tried to install my FSTB yesterday. I have a 1999 Max GLE.

Now i know how to install it but the thing is the Drivers side didnt fit..? There is a metal Peice welded near where the FSTB sits and I cant seat the FSTB properly..Does anyone else have this problem? This metal piece has no business being there because it does nothing! I was going to use a dremel tool and dremel the sucka out! PLease let me know if any other 99's have this peice there! thank you! Oh yeah I bought my FSTB from CustomMaxima.com.

The 1999s have a different mounting setup than the other 4th generations. Did you specify that you had a 1999 when ordering the part?

I had that piece also. This is on a 99 SEL.
I hacksawed mine out.

After you hacksawed that **** out..Did it fit fine? Im thinking of doing the same. And yes i did Specify mine was a 99..The box also said fits 95-99..It does fit fine its just that damn Peice thats killin me! damn that peice! damn you!

Same piece on my car. Get out the saw and some touch up paint to paint the cut metal so it doesn't rust.
