so ya.... umm a buddy of mine... not really ... his sister has a new RSX ... its not the type s.... its the normal coupe one that has like 160 hp.... hes tring me telling me he can run circles around me.... i reallly dont think its possible... i mean gimme a race or vise versa yes... but not circles.... has anyone had any encounters with one of these rice burning master peices??.... its 5 spd and stock... just like me im dead stock.... thanks alot....

The max does pull well in third, but i've noticed that its about the same pull as in the 240sx. when I race my gf, I usually take her off the line very easily by at least four car lenghts, but once we're both in third, i don't pull on her anymore.

 

How's the RSX rice? cuz it's made by japan? There's no mods on the car right? you guys are retarded.

Well newbie could have a better thread subject. Why do you guys refer to every car as rice especially in this case when the car is stock. If the owner of the RSX has some ricey mods then he could have called it ricey, but in this case it was stock. so is his max ricey too?

 

I agree not every car is ricey. They probably referred to it as rice because those type of cars when modified turn out to be rice. It's just that you didn't even give your thoughts on the outcome of the race, you just posted that we are retarded.

well to clear things up here... the reason i called i ricey is because .... hahhahahhahahaa.... sorry cant stop laughing... like i was saying the reason is cause it has all thses jap signs all over it... and he swears it came off the fast and the furious set with all those dammm graphics on the side of the car.... with stock rims stock hight and all..... i mean i got stok rims and hight ... but damm ud think hed make it look decent before puttin all those dammed stickers on it and screwing up the new paint... but then again... he only drives it on the weekends cause its his sisters... and during the week he drives a civic.... now that thing is all riced out.. rather not talk about it.... simple as this.... i ripped him in my moms mini-van..... hahhahhhahahahhaha....

RSX type S does 0-60 in 6.1 It was in motortrend or something of that sort. That's a tad faster than a 4th gen Max

Hmmm... Motor Trend tested the RSX Type S 6M in a not-so-slow 6.1 Seconds 0-60. That compares well with the reading they got for the 2000 Max SE 5M 6.7 Seconds 0-60.

The real question is how will it do with 40 less horsepower and drivers of varying skill levels?

I believe he said its NOT a type S. The base model RSX will get absolutely raped by a 5 speed maxima. The performance of the RSX-S seems to be all over the map, one magazine tested it at like 14.8 1/4 mile, and i've also seen 15.2, 15.3, and 15.6. So that tells me that even though the car is capable of running a 14.8, it has to have the hand of God pushing it. The RSX Type S's that I've seen at the track were running mid 15.2s-15.5s. I wouldn't be too worried about 99% of them on the road.

 

All I can say is bye bye to the plain old RSX.. its a fugly little piece of crap. Beefed up civic that costs an extra $4000. Har.. acura and honda has been making a lot of ugly crap lately.

 

Well I'm sure that it has something to do with who is running the report and who is financing the report... Some reporting companies do have financial interests in certain auto companies. I won't say how I know this, but we'll just say that I do. So if you have a huge interest Email me and I'll tell you where to look to find this information.
So if R&T (hypothetically) has a financial interest in Honda of N.A. then in a road test they may favor certain cars so they look sweeter to the public. Ever wonder why some Auto companies can get all the press in certain magazines? So when they do the performance tests, things that are Atypical may have influence... fuel type, tire pressure...who knows maybe even car set-up.

I know someone will want to argue this with me, so before you post just think... It's the media, and are you willing to believe everything you read thats written?? Please say it isn't so...
