Car Alarm - Please Help

hi all
i am new to this site and i really apprecite this maxima community which offers help to each other and i hope to expect the same here.
I recently bought a 97 max from a dealer and he told me that the car does not have a remote with it, but to my suprise i found the remote in the car trunk sealed pack, It works perfectly fine but it does not beep when the car is locked or unloced so in a way i do not come out to know when i lock the car whether it is open or locked. the remote has a button with picture of speaker on it but i have tried to press it - to no help.
Can anyone please tell me how to activate the beep whenever i lock or unlock the car
Thank you in advance!!!
SAM

you have a normal remote. there is no beep when they lock or unlock doors, but your turn signals front and back should blink when you lock. the horn is for a panic alarm (horn beeps) when held down a couple of seconds.

Go aftermarket alarm. Factory is peace of ****. You could break a window and take your car. Also no shock sensor.
