Can I make my beige interior look 'racey'

Can I make my beige interior look 'racey'
No, not Ricey ![Wink](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I was hoping to find a Max with a gray or black interior that I could dress up a little with aluminum pedals and aftermarket shift ****, a few other details, and maybe an aluminum dash kit. But I ended up buying a Maxima with a beige interior. Will this look stupid with the beige interior? Anything I can do?
I don't want the interior to look 'riced out', I just want to give it a little bit of a sporty custom look.

if you plan to auto cross it you can put race seats in.. good luck finding ones in beige though (i have tried) or you can put some Prelude seats in it or something. if its a 95/96 get the 97+ se stearing wheel.. its black, has nicer feel to it. or you can just go to a junk yard, pay $500+ and rip a black interior out of a totaled max

You could do a custom interior for like $600. It would include door inserts, seat recoverings and dask coloring. Check with your local trim shop.
OR
You could do like Sweetsound2001 did with his interior and convert it to black.

Anachronism:
I understand the way you feel, I also have a beige interior, and in my opinion there are few things we can do to make our interiors look sporty. The only sporty mod that I did to my interior was to get the indiglow gauges.
I think that the whole point of having a beige interior is to enjoy it; it's more luxury, than sporty ness.

I am definitly not ready to rip out or try to re-color the whole interior, maybe in a year or two. I just wanted to add a few small things to the car for now. I probably can't do a lot but I think I can make a few small changes. I would like to get rid of the Tan E-brake handle and boot, the momo pitstop carbon fiber ( http://www.ppsonline.net/handbrake.htm#pitstop ) probably won't look to bad and they do have one with wood in the handle if I have to, but they are a little expensive. Maybe I can change the shift **** if I get one that is mostly black with some color, Momo makes some nice woodgrain ones if thats all that will work. I will have to find a local store that will let me bring the stuff out to my car to see how it looks. Maybe I will even buy something and leave it in the car in the package for a few days before I decide weather I want to keep it.
I think I will hold off on anything major (aluminum dash kit) unless I see pictures of it installed in a car with a tan interior (anyone?) and I like it.
I have the SE, so I already have the white face gauges and I love them. I also have cloth interior not leather and I like the cloth.

i know...
TAN SUCKS!!!!!!!!
This is the only thing I can't get used to on my car and I can't stand it! The tan cloth seats are of this nasty bright yellowish color, along with the rear deck and headliner... I don't know if I'd have enough ***** to rip out my interior and recolor it.. I am afraid it will not come out well and will start to fade with time since I plan on keeping this car for a while.

If I'm going to go leather and I will eventually, I'd really like black. Having black leather seats and a tan interior would look wacky. I think I'll wait for the summer time and try and paint my interior
