Budget Y Impressions.......

....my Budget Y is being installed right now, I finally took it to a shop after 3 tries, which all left me ready for a long nap. So stay tuned, in about 2 hours I'll be making a test run.

I have a PR CAI and stock exhaust except for the Y. This better be good.

Mine is in my garage on the floor..I decided not to put him on...he's waiting on a few friends to play with him under there so i'll never know what it was like to run with just a Y but i guess i'll give a overall impression from my aftermarket exhaust compared to stock

OK, here goes..

...I only drove back from the shop, didn't go over 50. I started the car - no sound difference, I liked the acceleration - honestly felt like it wanted to pull a bit more. I know my car toooooo well, so I notice evrything, every new scratch, new feel, noise, OK. Right now as I type I am disappointed. Not gravely, but I am not completely satisfied. Here's why.

A cheesy WRX was in fron of me at the light, I didn't notice, but a 3rd gen max was next to him, (thought I would see a race), and when they both revved thier engines, it became obvious they both had exaust, so I revved too, but ya all know how it sounds without a cat back - wimpy. Ya just hear the CAI still.

**The pipe looks very low, it is around an inch lower than the body, and even with that center jack support.**

I am going for another ride right now! And I'm gonna go fast.

It didn't really affect the sound of my exhaust.

You only hear it at very low RPM's. But my whole acceleration range has tightened up so to speak. I like it, I am very glad I finaly got it. The mechanic said it fits perfect, and budgets customer service is excellent. Overall rating based on expectations - 7 of 10. I betcha tonight I'll like it more. Its too hot out now.

I wanna peel wheels, what's gonna help me. Besides the obvious SC or NOS. I thought I heard someone say the Y gets ya wheels.

On another note: The mechanic said he needed another $100 to replace my O2's, He said it would take at least 3 hours. I ed.

If he had the dang pipe out, and I supplied him with 3 brand new sensors, what they heck was so hard. So now I'm under there doin that, as soon as the pipe cools, I am no longer finger printable because I touched it like an idiot.

The drone is because of the Y pipse AND b pipe or Y pipe and Muffler. Y pipe alone on an otherwise stock exhaust doesn't add noise.

I didn't notice too much of a difference at normal driving. I noticed the biggest difference at higher speed acceleration. Try hitting the gas around 60+, you should notice a big difference.
