Car wont start... nothing

My car will no longer start, its completely dead, the starter solenoid clicks and sometimes "whirrs" but thats it.

When the car died it slowly cranked..slower then slower until it had nothing, now it just clicks.

The battery is fantastic, I turned the lights on and then started the car and there was no dimming of the lights so there was no load.

Is my starter dead? What gives?

Immediate response will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the uh.... news... haha. How difficult is that? I figured the started and or solenoid is dead. Is there a real way to test either while its still in the car?

How hard is removal???

Thanks

its pretty easy, just remove all the intake assembly (clamps and hoses) and you'll see the starter, remove the 2 17mm bolts (i think) and the starters off, to save you time, just take the starter to autozone or were ever you go and have it tested for free, and then decide from there what you wanna do.
heres a link...
but its just a stater noise how to.. but your situation is just replacing it

Hey thanks a bunch! That gives me a deep sigh of relief.... Looking at it, it looked nearly impossible to DIY. It is much easier than I thought. Maybe these Asian guys aren't crazy

Is a rebuild possible? Maybe clean up the solenoid?

I think I may take it to autozone, I just need to find a local one.

yea its pretty easy, it looks hard, but dont let looks deceive you, it may be possible, give it a try before buying a new one, might save a bunch of money and save you a trip to autozone

Just so you know, there's one 17mm bolt(the one towards the back/bottom of the starter), and the one more or less on top is a 14mm. You will also need a 10mm to remove the power cable from the solenoid. Just make sure you disconnect the negative batt cable, chances are you are going to hit something metal while trying to remove the power cable from the starter, and if you do it gets your wrench hot real quick...

Well its fixed now... 172 bucks for a new one but it went extremely fast and was quite easy. About 2 hours total. Pretty nice knowing a shop would have asked upwards of 500 if not more!
