Hot lights

So, since i live in rock heaven, I decided to put 3M clear coat on my new fog lights (3rd set) I went with the medium thickness. He said if i put the thickest one, my fog lights could melt it. Well, after a 30 min drive, i felt the housing, and Ouch, **** was hella hot. OEM Nissan fog Bulbs. Are there such things as "cool" lights.. like something that dosnt get so damn hot?

what part of the housing was hot? I think there is a vent in the housing, check it out to see if it's clogged. Also, try some dielectric or electrical contact grease and lube up the harness and bulb leads.
