Thats a great write up, but I think he has a different kind of mirror. A 96 i30 mounted to ceiling not the window and it only dims so no external sensors.

that depends if u got the harness from the car...

look at it closely.. changes colors when it connects to the mirror...

so if u have the piece that comes out of the car.. then u need to connect the

green wire with blue stripe... to..... red wire with blue stripe.. 12 volts Positive

and the black wire..... to the red with yellow stripe.... GND.....

OR if ur using the connector at the mirror then its

red wire with blue wire.... 12 volts Positive
green wire and black...... GND

theres no harness its just the wires coming straight out of the mirror so it would be this right?
red wire with blue wire.... 12 volts Positive
green wire and black...... GND
do you mean....
red-yellow, red-blue= 12 volt
grn-blue, black= ground
is this right? or is there a cable that stays unplugged?

^ Hey, You found it. This really needs to be stickyed... or stickied... or stuck....it should be saved.

Thanks very much. I have had this mod on my car for a while but the mirror was loose and I didn't know how to tighten it. It's perfect now. Good info.
