Stiffer is "worser" but stiffest is best!

After much experimentation with my AGX's (adjusting stiffness), I've found that setting both front and rear on their maximum levels actually does the best job of reducing bumpiness.

I started at "1's" all around, and then upped just the fronts one step at a time until I hit "4." Then, I started upping the rears one step at a time.

When the ride got harsher at each step upwards on the rears, I thought, "Nah..stiffer is not getting better here. Let me back it down."

And, I would have gone back to "1" if I had not decided ahead of time to go to the max regardless of the outcome.

Who would have thought that highest ("4" & "8") would be best?

I must add that tire inflation makes a difference, too. I also varied the inflation up and down, and found that 36psi worked out best.

depends. if you have low profile tires you want to have plenty of air not to bend your rims

I can feel a difference when I change my fronts around from 2 to 3 to even 4. When it's on 3 or 4, I can feel the body roll feeling reduce and even noticed the turning is sharper. But lately, I've been doing a lot of highway driving so I keep it back at 2 so my head won't bobble everywhere.

Back when I was running AGX's and DZ springs (2 inch drop) I had them maxed out...wasn't extremely harsh, even over the rough TN terrain (and literally offroading to get to my ex's house).

Well, "Yes" and "No." On the interstate, and other long stretches of smooth roads where I can cruise 60 or more, the ride is very comfortable.

Cannot say the same for doing 30mph on rough, residential roads. Feels like I'm on a hobby horse.

One thing is for sure, though. I'm moving in a few weeks to start a new job, and when I sell my house, I'm going to move up to Illuminas and H-Techs if I cannot "spring" for a set of higher priced coilovers.

The AGX's are a good setup, but I really need something that will be more forgiving on rural roads.

Now, to make things more complicated, I recently got a good deal on a set of 17's, but I have not put them on yet, and I'm not sure how they will affect my car's ride.

Either way, I don't have time to experiment before the move, so when I leave here, the only set of wheels I would like to take with me are whatever will be on my car at the time.

That means I need to sell these nice 16" wheels & tires which I've decided not to keep. However, if the 17's don't feel right, I'll probably put my 15" OEM's back on, sell the 17's, and wait for something else to come along after i'm settled in.
