Please Help Car starting problem!!!!!!!

I dont know if the clutch sensor switch is causing the car to have the start problems or not, at times ill get in and the car a start right up and other times its like i have to press the clutch hard to the floor or either try to press the clutch slowy to find that sweet spot the car starts. at first the problem was ok but now its getting worst and im spending 5-10 mins before the car starts also i put a new starter on about 80,000 miles ago but is there a way to test the starter? any info is helpful

Faulty ignition switch is very common, however it really sounds to me and you that it is the clutch pedal safety switch, but just to verify, this didn't start after a clutch change correct?

vq35de.com, follow the links to your fsm, there is testing and adjustment procedures for the clutch switch located in the CL (clutch) page 4 of 11. Also, in the EL section there is mucho specifications for the starting system..............

I'm betting on a bad ignition switch. I used to pound on my clutch and turn the key thinking the clutch switch had an imtermittant problem...finally, I held the key in start position and hit the clutch a few times and nothing happened which meant the ignition switch was bad. In otherwords, I could hold the clutch pedal down and steady and try to crank the car and sometimes the ignition switch would make contact and sometimes it would not. When I took the ignition switch out and apart, a small gap had eroded into the copper peice in the switch and I was able to form the copper to make reliable contact.
