Its a 97 SE with a 5speed and all the other good stuff( Climate control, bose, leather). So far I love it, but its a b***h to keep clean, since its black. It also souds like its SCd at idle and when it hits about 2900RPM, its crazy. Does anyone know why? I only plan on modding it with what I have from my other max. Its nice going from auto --> manual.

Yeah of course I did, that is one of the things you do when you buy a used car. Check to see if there are any leaks, belts and hoses are good and what not. I would have noticed a blower as soon as I cracked the hood. It is not exactly something you can miss. I don't think I would buy a max that already has a blower on it anyway, that would show me that it has already had too much stress on the drive train(engine, tranny and axles)and that there may be some costly repairs in the future. I am still wondering what that noise is though. I never heard it on my 95 auto, and I don't have a radar detector.

You DO know why your engine is making that stressful noise, don't you ?

You wen't from a FAST and LIGHT '95 GXE A-magic, to a slow and heavy '97 5spd. All those speed restrictions are just imbarrassing.

I advise you to swap tranny's with me immediently !
