Any way to touch up a chrome grill?

Any way to touch up a chrome grill?
You may recall that my front end had a dust-up with a foot-long trailer hitch. Besides getting a baseball-sized dent in the hood, there are a few spots on the grill where the chrome got chipped off (most noticeably on the right-hand side, at the 2nd horizontal spar.
Also, there is a tear or scar on the upper right which, if not attended to, will probably start to chip also.
(see below)
So, other than using some tacky chrome paint, are there any other things that can be applied to it...at least to keep it from chipping more?
Or...is it a lost cause?

I think it's a lost cause. I don't think it's worth your time and effort. Get a new one or a good used one from someone in the for sale section.
I'd be more pissed about the dent.....as I'm sure it's more noticeable?

I agree with you on both points. The dent is more noticeable and to a lesser extent, the folds on the sides of the hood. When the hitch ball hit my car, it puhed it backwards, and it buckled. I was able to push down on the hood to straghten it out, but there are still two small creases on the edges of the hood. Hopefully, that will be the easiest to fix
