Wind Deflector for sunroof

Been thinking about installing a wind deflector for my sunroof. Of course a factory Nissan one. Has anyone had any major problem with there's? Water collecting, Paint damage, Etc...

Actually yes. I had a problem after I took it off. Apparently while it was on, the water from rainstorms or washing it collected around/under the rubber trim of the deflector. After taking it off, there's a visible line where it was where the paint 'bubbled' and it cannot be taken off with polishing compound.

I had one on for 10 years. No paint damage but some discoloration after all that time. Dark color where the rubber was on the white paint for so long.

Sunroof deflectors are lame and look horrible. You will get paint damage/discoloration over time like the others stated.

i was going to put one on just to cover the rub marks. it looks like the previous owner had it on there for a while and somebody took it off before i bought the car.

yea not having this stupid thing on was one of the big selling points for the 97 GLE i just got.

my 96 GLE had one and driving 80 on the highway with the roof open was only slightly less windy and noisey

the practicality does not outweigh the ugliness.

I have had a Nissan wind deflector on for about 12 years and it made a significant difference in the noise (ie. wow sound), relative to the POS thing that comes with the sunroof.

I have never had a problem with the wind deflector and have no intentions of taking it off.

I highly recommend getting one, particularly if you want less noise with the drivers' window rolled down in the city.

I had one for about 2 months. then I decided it looked grandma-ish.

When I took it off, I had a nice lineon my roof. I guess it moved a bit ever so slightly when I drove. Enough to scuff up my room though. (and yes it was tight!)

I don't use my sunroof, so IDC about noise, and it looks SO much better without one IMO.

Mine got cracked four years ago and I finally took it off, I should have removed it a long time ago! The car looks way better without, but wind noise is up a bit.
It's not a permanent install, it's basically a clip on...find one and try it out, it's not going to hurt your paint if it's only on for a few months and if you decide to keep it on what does it matter if the paint is scuffed a few years later?
