Just a wild guess here........Outside Temperature display for the AMB button which became 'official' in 99??? (of course the sensor is missing) Do you have electronic climate control (ECC) or manual AC/heat controls? What year Max do you have??

It's for the TURBO that nissan decided not to put in @ the last minute

But seriously, i've seen that wire too. It doesn't seem that it was ever connected to anything.

I don't think it's for the horn at all ... both horns are hooked up and the conector is different (as you can see in the pic). I agree that it's probably for an option I don't have. I don't have the auto climate ... but it'd be interesting if someone that dose could check it and see. I was guessing either the auto climate control or factory alarm ... but I don't know honestly.

Thanks all ... someone with Auto Climate ... please check and post for us.

Cheers all!

It's for another horn. My guess is that Nissan puts two horns there if you don't have the factory alarm system. The factory alarm has one horn under the hood. You can add another horn where the wire is and it really makes it loud since you'll have 3 horns working.

arguing .... who's arguing? Why is this connection so much differnt if it's the "same" hook up as for the horns .... ??? Who has a third horn or factory alarm on their Max to prove this. I am not saying it can't be for the horn, but the hook up is different and why wouldn't Nissan have put the horn there to begin with? I didn't mean to **** anyone off by asking this ... but if someone can show me another horn that is hooked up to this wire, it'd make much more sense to me. How about someone SHOW what it's for as opposed to speculating and calling me "argumentative" about it.

WhiteA32 ... with your "hella horns" how many wires did you use? The horn wires for factory are just a simple slip on to a post type. This is different ... how did you hook it up? Any pix ????
