d3v0, there used to be a bright member on here who custom fabricated and sold the boards ( at quite a price IMO) but his days of fabrication seem to have ended, and you can ask around for a few used sets, or make your own, like many of the members have done, really. I want tails too, but I really don't have the time to make anything on my own (let alone the soldering skills) So, keep looking and ask around, maybe you'll find a member to fab some for you at a price~!

i PMed the guy who made them, seeing if i coul get a set, but he never replied... i REALLY like the way flava did his... the LED board, inside blacked out taillights...incedible...

KEVLO911, if you have quit making these, can you at least give us a parts list and tutorial so we can attempt it ourselves?

WOW!!

Do you know how much money could be made if someone took that up as a hobby and made them on the side?! It would have to be quality work though. If I knew how to make them, I would definitely make them for everyone since I am a machinist. All I need to know is how the wiring of the LED'S are done.

bizzl3, i hate to tell you, but those altezza style taillights for ANY maxima looks like crap, especially compared to the LED setup... that's the only thing i hate about maxima's... the only kind of aftermarket taillight looks pathetic.... well, except for the ones that people do themselves (ie, LED's, or changing the amber lens to white)

at this point no. I've talked to kevlo and am still designing the wiring. But if they come out alright I might sell them if people want to dish the money out.

In order to make nice ones it takes a shiet load of time. Last time Kev did it everyone said I want one, but when it came time to buy he sat on an inventory for quite a while. Such is the nature of the org.

There have been numerous discussions and write ups on this subject, do a little searching and you should be able to find the info you need to get started.

yeah i remember that. Kevlo had a lot and people backed out I believe. Took awhile to sell them. If I were to make them I'd have to do payment first somehow. Like half now half when finished. That way people wouldn't back out. But no one will want to do that so I doubt I'll produce any. Plus, still gotta order everything and make them and make sure they work ha.

I love the look of the led tails, but has anybody made the leds 2 stage. dim for parking lights and then bright for actual stop lights? I see this style on muranos and some caddy's. I talked to guy who was an electrical engineer, but he said it would be a pain. Any ideas or has it been done?

um...yeah that's how it has to be to be legal. You can't have tail lights that don't light up when you brake. It is a pain. There are different ways to do it. A PWM can be used and two-state current drive also. At least that's what I'm figured out.

It would be also possible to have half of the LED's light up at night when you turn on headlights or the auxilaries, and then have the other half light up when you apply brakes. The rows would have to be in between each other.

I envy your heads and tails.
I'm probably going to go the same way with projectors/angel eyes and LED tails.

EXACTLY!
Everyone always states "I will buy some" then when there made available suddenly no one has the cash, or the start commenting thats too much money. This is and will always be thereason parts for the Maxima are so limited.
The only reason Kevlo was making them was because everyone claimed they wanted them so the demand seemed to be there, only to find out it wasnt.

I guess it really doesn't matter as long as the LED look like the one in the picture.

i'm gonna need some kind of measurments to tell my contact. also, i would be very suprised if a universal pre-fab came out looking exactly like those, as those are fully custom.

I'm not trying to single you out....just your statement. How much are any of you willing to pay for this? If you're not willing to pay more than $200 minimum then don't bother asking about people doing this stuff for you. There have been some mini tutorials out there, but the most difficult thing is having time and patience. There's plenty of soddering, and time consumption to drill, place everything.

Just asking because these ready board were going for more than $200, and people were too cheap to fork over after committing saying they would pay anything. You are 1 out of 20 then that would pay

yeah i should mention that my contact for the pre fab boards (assuming they have something we can use) imports high-end parts from japan. i'm not anticipating them coming very cheap.
