Bad inner CV joint

Bad inner CV joint

anybody ever have this prob? about how much am i looking at?

It's when i make a left turn.........have to figure out which one it is now........inner left or right

I replaced the whole half shaft for $60...

G&S Auto parts... Local place in Colorado, I had to pay $80 for the core charge. I had to pay more for the core charge than I did for the part.

If it's making noise only when you turn, it's most likely the outer CV joint. AutoZone has them for $99 plus a $55 core. You will need a 36mm socket to remove the axle nut.

if i remember right

it is cheaper and easier to replace the whole thing instead of just the inner cv boot.

Yah I had a brain fart....outer is what i meant.....my gti 16v is the car i had to replace the inners...

I'll try a couple of places....raxles.com wants 89 for cv/139 whole axle...gonna give it a while to make sure....it does it sometimes...sometimes it dont

Those less expensive axles use remanufactured joints...a bad idea. My reman replacement axles only lasted 35000 miles...
