bose headunit clarion?

I've done some searches here for bose + cd changer. I found several posts but nothing for what I am interested in. I was told by circuit city if the head unit says clarion on the back then I can plug in a clarion cd changer. Is that true? If so, has someone looked at the back of the head unit? What does it say?

Also what are your thoughts about FM modulated changers? They told me that would be a way to go. Obvisously, I lose some sound quality but is it that noticeable?

Thanks!

yes, that is true, but clarion changers are expensive, sherwood made a changer identical to clarion for much cheaper, check out this post

I have this changer and it works great, it's only 165 and the shipping is FREE

Re: bose headunit clarion?

go to eBay and search for "nissan changer." this will bring up Nissan compatible cd changers. i recently bought one for $142 plus $18 shipping. it came with everything i needed. I installed it myself, which wasn't too hard, and it sounds great, just as good as the cd head unit. it also plays burned cd's better than the bose unit, and it has yet to skip (and i've hit some pretty hard bumps). the previous owner had put in an fm modulated unit, but the unit i installed sounds so much better, and it's more integrated. i love it!

e-bay is great, but, you don't know how honest they are, and the unit is used, the unit from that post is new, never opened and it's only $165

again, vinipux beat me to the punch. the changer i bought is new and unopened. i'm not saying that you have to buy from eBay by any means. in fact it seems like the guy who's selling them on the maxima.org forums is the same person because the wording he uses to sell the changer is very similar to the one on eBay. i guess he's just advertising many different places.

I've got a Clarion cassette head unit and I added the Clarion OEM 1-DIN in-dash 6cd changer.

It works like a charm, EXCEPT my illumination on the changer is screwed up, the LEDs and changer backlight shut off when I turn the lights on, illumination is operating in reverse but it's an easy fix. Either I'll have it on all the time or try to get a signal off the clock. Whatever, when I have the time.
