ECU ??

soo.. like an idiot, my car threw a CEL and I wanted to check what happened... When i went to go to the self-diagnostic test, I accidently went past stop...

I have a 96 Auto... Someone is offering me their ECU from their 97 Auto.. Will I have any problems with installing it in my car? He said he never tried it on a 96 but he tried it on a 98 and it worked flawlessly. thanks for the help.

Mine has been past the stop for years. Find a good place for it and leave it where you think is right. When you run the diagnosis next time, just stop your screw-driver before you go past

It's probably throwing that code because you are resetting it without knowing that you are since you don't have the "stop" point and every time you go check your code, you are clearing the codes. How long have you driven it allowing for any codes to pop up by themselves?

Before you buy another ecu, why don't you take it to autozone to have them pull your codes. There should be no reason that you CEL comes on giving you 0505 unless you are accidentally reseting it.
