Yesterday my passenger side headlight stopped working, so I removed the cover and noticed that the wiring connector is not original.

So I twisted the wires a little bit and pressed on the connector and the headlight started working, but every time I pressed on the wires the light was getting brighter or darker.
After a minute I felt that the black wire and the connector are getting hot, so I disconnected it from the bulb and saw that it's burned and it also smelled like burned plastic.

Why is this happening ? I have regular bulbs....
Where can I get different connector? Can I get it at AutoZone ? How much the dealership will charge me ?

lucky US Maximas, no daytime running lights. You're lucky. The wire's (ground/low/high)are crimped onto metal connectors that insert into the plastic harness. The weakest point of an electrical circuit is where the bad connection is (where its melted), looks like that highbeam wire in the harness. They're not to bad to remove if you're careful, just grab a precision screwdriver or something of the sort and pop the bad wire out, if necc. replace the harness, you should be able to pick the harness and connectors up just about anywhere, im pretty sure they're 9004 IIRC. Autozone should be able to get em.. when you connect the new one (if you do) get some metal solderless connectors and shrink tube, black is ground, but not sure on US cars what the hot wires are you'll have to test em. any questions let me kno.

I had the same problem, but i was using those hyper white bulbs, both of my sockets burnt out. I bought dealer sockets for $30/each

Yowch. I'm trying to think of how a short could have caused that... that's not pretty--you're lucky it only melted the connector.

Get another male 9004 plug from Autozone or similar place.
