My antenna just stopped working as well..it has that motor that pushes it up and down, But it just stopped working. Now it's stuck in the up position. You can hear when you turn the radio on that its trying to pull it in or push it out, but it won't budge any ideas how to fix?

i had this problem on my 3rd gen. i bought it with the antennae up. i just assumed that it didnt retract on maximas.

eventually it was solved with white lithium grease or silicon.
i sprayed into all the joints on the antennae and then turned the radio on and off to see if it would move.......didnt work. after letting the lithium sit on it for a good 20 minutes, i had my friend sit in the front and turn the radio on/off while i GENTLY twisted and pushed. suddenly it became free and worked till the day i sold it.

A shot of electrical grade lubricant (like CRC 2-26) or even just WD-40 to the antenna every few months (followed by cycling the antenna up and down a couple of times) will help prevent these types of antenna problems in the first place.
