02 sensors

How do you know when the O2 sensors are going out? Car seems to run fine except it takes a few more cranks to start up.

I'm not a DBM but here goes. Any # of things could happen - they build up with carbon deposits or suffer from vibrations. Milage might drop. Failed emmissions test. MIL light would trip.

Don't think O2's would affect starting though. Anybody else?

The check engine light comes on... No starting problems, though.

There are two - one front one rear. One takes 1 hr to replace, the other 3 hrs (dealer quotes) Of course, I had the expensive one go. It cost me $289.52 (89.32 for part and 220.20 for labor). P/N 22690-40U06. Ouch!

Your O2 sensors do not have anything to do with your starting problems. The O2 sensors are only operable in closed loop mode (part throttle & vehicle above normal operating temperature).

If the car is not starting right away, it's either
- fuel
- spark
- compression
- battery charge
- timing

If you have no other abnormal symptoms then you have to test one by one to narrow it down.
