intermitten no-start on my 96 - starter tested ok

Hi guys, in the past 2.5 months, I had two occasion where the max wouldn't start. Both times I was driving around normally then parked, when I came back the car would not start. I turn the key and I get one "click" where the radio and dash lights go off. The starter doesn't make any sound at all. The first time it started back up while I was on hold with a towing company. The second time I thought maybe something is lose because I remember I bang the hood close a few times and kinda just shook the car a little while sitting in the driver seat and it started up again. Last time I thought it was the starter and took it to autozone. It was purchased from autozone three years ago and has a lifetime warranty but it tested ok on their machine. Can somebody give me some ideas on what is wrong? could it be my ignition switch? crank sensor? or something else? I'm pretty sure its not the starter, and not the fuel pump because I replaced the pump with a walbro unit a few months ago.

thanks

Make sure your battery cables are clean/tight and then follow the cable from the negative terminal to the ground on the body. Make sure that connection is snug and rust free.

ground the starter to the tranny and the tranny to the frame. Its possible that the starter is on its way out though. but ground it asap to prevent further problem.

you need to do what I say i have had same prob with several cars may not be yours but still try.

turn the key to on then quickly turn it to start then back to on the to start continue doing this until your car starts turning over. then start the car like normal. if it doesn't work I'm sorry for wasting your time.

if you have a test light or a multimeter check the trigger wire (small) that goes to the starter, unplug the harness and make sure you have power there when you turn to 'start'.
If you do, it's the ground or the starter itself. That will factor out all other components. But I can say with 90% certanty that its lack of a good ground.
