Engine Clearance

I am taking out my engine and I need some advice on how high to take the car up, best method (and cheapest) etc. I was thinking some rhino ramps from walmart?

you don't need to raise your care up if your taking the engine off. I would just put it on jack stands. since you probably going to disconnect the axles to disconnect the tranny from the engine and them pull it out.

I am dropping it, not raising it.

Throw a measuring tape down from roughly as high as the top of the UIM down to the bottom of the oil pan. Raise it that much + 6 inches or so.

Unless you have a trans jack or something that can take the weight, I wouldn't just park it up on ramps. You'll probably need to drop the motor down, then raise the car up.
