8 gauge Oxygen free wire. Where?

Hi.
I need a 8 gauge oxygen free wire to replace a positive battery wire.
Because my car has a hard starting problem when the engine is hot.
I got a PM from somebody who had the same problem but he got rid of that by replacing the oxygen free wire. So I would like to try.
I live in lansing MI. Here isn't any car audio shop or racing shop. Even I tried to find on the Internet, but I couldn't. Would let me know where I can get it?
Thanks.

Couldn't find it online?

Google worked just fine for me...searched '8 AWG oxygen free wire'.

http://shop.willyselectronics.com/browse.cfm/4,9306.htm

$0.87/ft.

Which wire size is good for a positive wire between 8 gauge and 4 guage?

Thanks man.

you have to match the wire you buy to your application, make sure the max amperage allowed on the wire is more than application amperage. for example, using the link provided by pmohr, you can see that even the 4 AWG wire is rated at 70 amps max, and will be insuficient for a positive cable on our cars. rather be safer than sorry, best bet is to match stock wire guage. (not sure how big it is but probably 0 AWG)

Actually the stock is a 4ga at the max. i am pretty sure. 4ga should be fine, anything smaller just would give enough current flow. The best bet would be to go to a stereo shop( Circuit City or Best Buy). There is one in your area I'm sure. Circuit will sell it by the foot. At Best Buy you would want the 4ga Capacitor install kit. You may pay a little more but you can have it now.

If you have an amp/sub you may want to find 2ga. Also I would redo the ground while you are at it

If you take Toolmans advice, the ground cable will cost you $6 at Wally Mart and I know you have them in Lansing. Look in the automtoive section where the batteries are located. I did this repair last Saturday, takes like 15 minutes.

I've been Best buy but they don't sell the wire only.
What gauge wire does the ground need for?

Why would amp wire make your car start better when hot?

Power amplifier wiring is better quality that most auto stores will provide, so whether the car is hot or not it would start better. Also it strengthens the charging system and produces less resistance so your batt. and alternator will last longer.

and yeah wal-mat does sell it cheaper that most others.

I've been wal-mart near my home. But they didn't have 4~8 gauge wires. There were only 12 to 18 gauge wires. Anyway I found the wire today. It was from 30 miles far at home. 15 feet of 8 gauge and 5 feet of 4 guage are bought by $19 + gas.

I'm not a sponser member so I couldn't use the serch function to find "engine bay grounding" pictures. Can I have some pictures of that job?

Thanks.
