Front strut replacement

Front strut replacement
I've been researching front strut replacement on this site and found an article that describes the front strut bearing fix. I found the KYB replacement strut mount, part# SM5122, and was wondering if this part includes the bearing. If it does, I'm assuming I would just install that part on top of the spring before installing the whole strut assembly back on the car. If and when I do this strut replacement, I want to replace everything with new parts and not have to open up the strut mount to replace the bearing. Also, what is a good OEM replacement strut? Not looking to take corners at 80MPH!!
Anyone get caught up in the "1995-1997 Maxima Front Spring Upper Winding Rattle Noise" service bulletin?
Thanks,
Joe

I am not sure if you would be able to remove the top mounts with the lower mounting bolts still attatched to the spindle (I removed the strut, lifetime alignment) but if you are able to I would go with the fix.
Besides OEM Nissan struts that you can find used on this site that maybe you could inspect and pick up locally for cheap, KYB GR2s or Tokico blues are suitable replacements.

I actually swapped setups with a '96 a while back and had to re-grease due to spring "winding". I will say though that the temp fix I used (Vavoline syn grease laying around *small* amount) worked for as long as I had them. I have other '98s from a different car that I swapped with and I checked with him not to long ago and everything is nice and tight.

I would rather use Nissan strut mount. I regreased the strut bearing about 60K miles ago. It is still working fine. However, if you don't want to open it up again, new strut bearing is the way to go. I am using Illumina, but I think Tokico Blue would be good, too. Use Nissan strut boots. I went cheap and put on Rancho boots and regret it.

Not that a new one isn't the best but if yours worked for 60K so far why do you recommend a new vs. regreased? The ones that CAME from Nissan can go out around 60K and up (had the problem starting on a 62K I30).
