Have you shaved your antenna?

Post a picture if you want and are you happy with it? Meaning would you do it again?

I'm sending my maxima into the body shop next week to repaint the trunk and rear pass. quarter. They guy will shave the antenna for around 300. I'm sorta on the fence about it.

help me decide.

I say keep the Antenna... makes our cars stand out since most luxury sedans now have no antenna..

mine is shaved but i don't have any pics cause its in the shop. i would do it again. i think everyone should shave their trunk keyhole too (makes a bigger difference than the antenna). 300 is outrageous though, especially if he is repainting anyway.

I think that kind off money would be better spent on a different modification. It looks good, but $300.00 is to much.

oohhhhh, I could use a flux capacitor and a Mr. Fusion. That would negate the need for gas

Go Antennaless ?

I do not think it adds at all to the looks to shave it. There is something retro and cool about having a real motorized antenna. Also, I agree that the best way to see how it looks is to look on the other side of the car. My 2 cents.

I shaved mine. It looks pimp. I'm still in the painting process but when its done it'll be pretty sick. I wouldn't pay $300 for it though. Get some body pads and bondo and do it yourself.

and for those who shave the trunk.. if your battery is dead, how do you get in the trunk?

waste of money. I'll only shave it off if repainting the car. I think that the shaved antenna with a roof antenna is the nicest. That's my plan in the future when I repaint. But long way off at this point.

oh for sure maintenance is a must..
but I'm just saying, a scenario where the car battery is dead and your FOB battery is dead as well, how do you open it?

just a question like that.. that's all

I have left my headlights on before and managed to drain the battery. The trunk release is power. With out the key hole, I would not be able to get the jumper cables out of the trunk very easily. I suppose I could go through the ski pass through, but I would need really long arms.

Yes Kevlo, you are right, it does look way better with out the antenna.

Get the keyhole painted so it doesnt stand out as much. Better than mine tho All the little blemishes get fixed in the winter

My battery was totally dead. Not even the int. lights came on when I opened the door.
deader than dead. I know it's not good for the battery when that happens. Whatever.
it's just a cheap diehard. They used to be good now they are crap. Sears in canada closed their automotive division and sold the name to a tire shop up here. That tire shop has butchered the diehard name.

who in their right mind would pay 300 dollars to have it shaved if the work was being done anyway.
i got mine done for 50 bucks when i had the quarter panel replaced. I forget that its shaved half the time, it looks like the left side of the car.

i didn't really pay to shave my antenna off. After we had a deal on the paint job, a couple of days later i decided to shave it, and he ever charged me extra. Its really not thats hard of a process.

i don't think it's worth the $300 to shave it.

i just unplugged my antenna so it won't come up at all.

There is a secondary antenna mounted in the rear window near the top I believe. Is that what you are wondering?

And kevlo, as far as the keyhole goes, I'm going to leave it unpainted for now. When I get the stereo done, that's going to be a backup camera location.

I was thinking of having that shaved too, but I think the camera is a better idea.

yeah but even if you have a regular MP3 CD deck playing and a call comes through on your regular phone, you would first lower the sound then pick up and talk.........Where as the bluetooth lowers the sound automatically for you so all you have to do is take the phone into your hands !!!
