Front end shake...

Just picked up a 98 auto... test drive was fine and smooth... but after 150 miles, the steering wheel shakes as if the tires were unbalanced. But, they're not... I had different wheels balanced and put them on, and the shake is still there. I checked to make sure the wheels were on tight, and they were. Brake rotors seemed fine, no tears in the cv boots...

What do you guys think it could be??

-Robert

Check out the video... it was hard to record at faster speeds, so it's the low speed shown:

I have had a tire be unbalanced, only to change to a new set of wheels/tires that are also unbalanced.

Lift the car and try go to each wheel and try to wiggle and move them around. They should be completely solid. If they move side to side or wiggle around try to find where it's coming from. You could possibly have a bent axle. How many miles are on the car?

Just 94k on the car... one owner...

Haha... well... I took it to schwab's cuz they do free inspections, and they were able to spot the a nice flat spot on the right front tire right away. I asked em to change it front to rear... and the steering wheel doesn't shake as bad. The other wheels/tires I put on were probably crap, and putting the stock ones back on, I rotated them around.

I'm guessing the flat spot came from my test drive of the car... LOL...
