Can't read oil level when warm!

Like the title says, I have to check my dipstick before I start the car otherwise
I get erratic readings that are higher than the actual level once hot. It's not expansion of the oil, splashing perhaps? Has anyone else had this problem?

Everyone has had this problem on pretty much every VQ. Check it it's been sitting for awhile.

Morpheus summarized it. This is a signature Nissan VQ nuisance issue, on both the 30 and 35 variants. You just have to check it after it has been off for 10+ minutes.

Luckily for us VQ30 owners, abuse and neglect aside, they rarely consume oil.
