Will it rub? 18x8s

Hi guys, i've got stock suspension (for now) and want to know if these will fit and not rub or anything:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=547742

Basically: 18X8 wheels all around w/225-45-18s on the front,245-45-18s on the back

I know that the tires are staggered, but if I get two tires the same size as the front (or should I get the back size?), it wouldn't be staggered anymore, correct?

Thanks for helping out a noob guys!

You will have no problems. There are lots of people running 20's on lowered suspension. You can run those 18's and even drop it up to 2inches.

the stock 350z rims you will not have issues...
should be perfect offset..

regarding rubbing issues, you always have to check what the offset is first + tire size ( you got the tire size written)
but being stock height, you will have no issues...

No rub, go for it. Don't bother looking for another set. Just keep the wider ones to the rear.

I ran 18x8's with 245/40/18 and had no rubbing at all. With stock suspension though. Felt like I was driving a monster truck though.

Thanks Camfant. Smaller sidewalls might make the ride a little rougher but handling will be improved and it might take care of your rubbing.

Maxx, 04 maxima rims have the same tires, they're not staggered.

get all the same size, 235/40/18. Our cars aren't rear wheel drive. No need for larger tires in the rear

i have the opportunity to buy two different sets of wheels, both cost 300 dollars. i have a pearl white 97 GLE on stock suspension and dont know much about offset or spacing or anything else. please tell me what you think of these deals and what other things, if any (spacers, etc.) i will need to make them flush.

THE FIRST

17" '04 350Z wheels with minor minor curb rash. no serious dings or any discoloration whatsoever. TWO of them have Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tires that have less than 2000 miles driven on them. the specs are 245-50-17s on the back and 225-50-17s on the front. the front two are the bald ones, and will need to be replaced.
i did some research on tirerack.com about the Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tires and they got slammed from every single customer - especially as the tires related to wet weather, which is a big concern for me as i am in Florida.

but still, thats 4 17" wheels and two NEW tires for $300......good deal right?
heres a pic from my cell:

THE SECOND

4 18" '07 350Z wheels with NO SCUFFS OR RASH WHATSOEVER. totally perfect condition. however all 4 tires on them are bald and all 4 will need to be replaced. so thats 4 perfect 350Z wheels for $300.....
i am concerned about rubbing since they are 18s, but also concerned becuase the backs (like the 17s) are wider than the fronts. how will i adjust them to make them flush? spacers? how many? what size? where do i buy them?

anyway here are the 18s

so thats 300 bux for EITHER 4 17"s and 2 new tires OR 4 18"s.......
obviously i think the 18s are better looking, but they might not be as practical as the 17s

what about their offset? how wide are the 18 rims? 18x8? 18x8.5 ?

do i HAVE to go with 245 in back and 225 in front? how about 225 in front and 235 in back with 45 sidewalls. i want to avoid 35 or 40 sidewalls cuz i live near lots of traintracks and want as thick a tire as possible.

like 225-45-18 and 235-45-18 ?? up top lumberg says get the same size tires for all the rims, but arent the back ones wider?

if theres anything else youd suggest, please do.
thanks for your input

As said in the other thread. just get the first set. The wider ones on back, and it will not rub.

do you mean the 17s?
the 2 *new* tires on them are apparently bad quality (bridgestone potenza RE040). i would just end up buying 4 new ones for those...so either way im spending 300 for 4 alloys and thats it.

plus i think the 18s look better.
on the 18s, are the actual rims wider on the back two than the front or are they all the same size but with wider tires on the back.

could i run 235-45-18s on ALL 4 and be ok?

The 18s are heavier, and frankly i don't like them but that that with a grain of salt. the 17s are a lil lighter and will allow you to run a slightly taller tire that will accomodate the ride ride you're looking for. the width of the combo will help more with stability so no need to go to 18s. i would actually get the same size tires that are already on the rims. For tires i would def stay away from Craptenzas. 1 thing most people fail to realize is that the bigger the rim, and the more expensive it will get. You're getting a good deal on the combo even if it was rims alone for that price. I wouldn't skimp on tires to save a couple of bucks. Look at toyo proxes 4 or kumhos asx. it's a nice compromise as far as price/quality go.
