Hood struts online...does this deal seem legit?

UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PART IS ONLY A SINGLE HOOD LIFT! I GOT THE RUNAROUND WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BASICALLY HAD TO ORDER A 2ND ONE AFTER THE FIRST ARRIVED.

Normally Autozone and others have them for $40-50, some even for $50 each side.

So anyone know if this is legit?

http://www2.partstrain.com/v5/produc...294966996+9345

Compared to another one on the same site:

For $19, I can't go wrong...they sure look right....anyone ever ordered these?

How much are the Auto Zone ones? $20 or so? I can't imagine paying $50 for hood struts.

The ones I showed in the OP aren't $50...they are $19 for both...the 2nd pic was for comparison purposes.

I'm going to buy the ones in the first pic and see if they truly are what I need to keep the hood propped open.

Cool, that's another thing the one I bought is going to need. I hope to get it picked up on monday and do some regular stuff to it, then some appearance mods to follow shortly thereafter.

They are $82.50 a piece at the dealership FYI. Mine are still okay, they don't hold so well when it is below freezing outside, but if/when they do fail, I will prob go to Autozone and get theirs for the lifetime warantee.

When I looked at the car I am buying the other day, they were 100% shot, so I'll need to get that replaced ASAP. I'll head to O'Reily's or something as the closest AZ is on the Missouri side.

Just FYI, I believe they changed their ad, but the price was just for 1 not 2...still an ok deal, but one broke on install so be careful if you buy.

I'd say go for it. 20 for hood struts is a good price...and could they really be THAT bad? (ok yeah they could...but I'd just hope they're not)

I got mine from the junkyard for
FREE. Not bad considering they're oem nissan hood struts that work perfect! Not even dirty!

Pick n' Pull had a half off memorial day sale, so I went. They charged me 16 for a MAF and 10 for an auto climate control. I got hood struts and center vents for free!

They apparently have come down in price from the dealer, most likely because they sell so many of them these days. The first one I put on my 95 SE was $91.99 and the second one was $102.43 - obviously both from a dealer, before after market parts stores offered them.

And that was way back when $100 was worth something.

Hood struts are about $15-20 at JcWhitney, why deal with the stealership?

Hell since they are that cheap I'll go get some from autozone now. Been using a nice soft 1x2 of pine. Worked like a charm until I couldn't find it. lol

Just trying to help someone out....it's a good price. Struts are seldom immediate needs, so shipping time is less of an issue. The cost of shipping was included in the $32.

Prices seem to have gone up at the Zone. I am seeing $24.99 and $27.99 each for two different brands of struts.
