weird crackling sound at highway speeds ???

weird crackling sound at highway speeds ???

lately i have been noticing a crackling sound at around 70mph it sounds like its the winshield.. what is causeing this annoying sound... how do i fix it... thanks,louis

Oh my!! I hope it's not the windshield. Crackling noise may come from a variety of sources...electrical, engine mechanical, or dash rattles. You need to be a little more specific with the details.

it definitly isn't electrical or coming from the engine its from the winshield when i slow down it stops when i go a little faster in can hear it even when i remove my foot from the gas.. i can't figure it out

Solution

just turn up your radio real loud...and the sound will disapear.

my smart a$$ is definetly not worthy of filling D.B's shoes....

hope you or someone on this forum can figure out your prob. my only guess would be from your engine pinging, but you said it happens when you let off the gas too, so

How about checking if you have leaves in the air ventilation intake between the windshield and the hood?

nm.. i forgot that there isn't much room for them to get thru... unlike my old 68 Camaro...
