4th gen phenolic spacer thread...for Aaron92se?

The 4th gen Maxima Intake Spacer Kit is still in the works. I know I've said that a few times, but this is NOT an easy kit to make. The design has been changed several times since the project was started. But just within the past few days, another design was decided on and now we can proceed with the project. We hope this is the final design!
But, my goal is to have the kit fully designed and tested and available for sale before the first major Maxima meet of the year in March 2008 in South Florida.
Thank you for your interest. I will be sure to bump this thread with any updates.
And if anybody has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Edit: (1/7/08) I figured I would add some important information for those newcomers that don't know much about the NWP Engineering Phenolic Thermal Intake Spacers.

It's ok. I don't mind. So far there isn't a 4th gen Maxima Spacer Thread started yet. It gives the chance for people to ask questions for everyone to read.
A thread similar to this has been started in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th gen forum.

I wanted everyone to be able to see the info not just myself, since it pertains to the interests of all the 4th genners...

So this kit should work with the MEVI and 00vi swap. But as for the 00vi, we know it's made of a plastic composite. But it's very likely that if the spacers provide a decent HP gain on the VQ30DE, then there should be some type of gain on the VQ30DEK 5th gen.

As of right now, the spacers are port matched to the 4th gen VQ30DE LIM. The kit should include two thin port matched thermal spacers that goes between the LIM and heads. It will also include a 1/4" UIM Spacer that is port matched to the top of the LIM. So if you change the UIM to a 00vi, that shouldn't matter since you are keeping the stock LIM, right? And to finish the kit off, a 1/4" thick TB spacer will be port matched to the stock VQ30DE UIM.

Well you have to remember that if you keep the 4th gen LIM you need to turn it 180 to make it work with the 00VI. I don't know if that will affect the design. However, there is a small percentage of members who have taken that route. Instead they go with the 5th gen LIM. You may have to have two designs.
I do feel there is enough demand to produce a kit for the VQ30DEK 00-01 Maxima. If things goes smoothly, that probably won't be ready until the Summer or Fall of 08.
Right now, the VQ30DE 95-99 Maxima Spacer Kit is top priority since the development for the VIAS/SSIM Block Plate is finished for the VQ35DE.

IIRC the bolt pattern for the UIM to the LIM is different from the DE to the DEK. those with 00VI will have to drill holes through the spacers to make it work with the bolts. Im pretty sure of this with my 00VI research but if I am wrong please simply correct me
#24
However, you only need 1 kit for 4th gens and one for 5th. Correct me if I am wrong but;
VQ30DE spacer for A32s and 00vis(with A32 LIM).
VQ30DEK spacer for A33s and oovis(with A33 LIM).
Aaron, do the spacers wrap around the bolts on the end of the LIM?
Powerman,
10hp and 12ft-lb gain & 40°F temp drop on the VQ35DE

Nope, not really. But a final design has been chosen for the 4th gen kit.
Thermal Intake Spacers lower the intake manifold temps by an average of 40 degrees. They lengthen the intake runners and provide better low end and midrange power in the VQ35DE. They are port matched and eliminate the need for stock intake gaskets which are improperly sized. This improves airflow!
The design that has been chosen for the 4th gen Kit will wrap around the end studs on the LIM. But this can be changed since the drawings are not final just yet. If you feel this will help, please explain how. Thanks.

Just got a Mevi kit, hoping to be able to get a set of these upon installation of the Mevi. Considering I am not installing the kit just yet as I have the car stored, so it will be around spring '08 when I install. Any ideas on pricing yet? Thanks!
#28
Right now, they are expected to cost less than the VQ35DE Kit, which is priced at $225. I am hoping to keep it below $200. We'll see.

I will test the OEM intake manifold before and after the installation of Spacers. But it's possible we could do some dyno testing with the MEVI and Spacers. The 00vi testing will more than likely be done on the VQ30DEK with a seperate spacer kit specifically designed for that engine and intake manifold setup. One of the biggest and most important aspects of these spacers are that they are port matched. Since the ports on the 00vi and OEM 4th gen IM are not 100% alike, a seperate kit will need to be designed for the VQ30DEK.

I don't have a MEVI test vehicle at the moment.
Thank you. You are about 3 hours west of me. I'll let you know if I can't find a closer test vehicle.
