Blower Motor Resistor

My 98 Maxima heater only works on 3 and 4. So I know that the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced. Is this a common problem in Maxima? I replaced one couple of years ago. What is the best site / place to order this item? Any "internet" junk yards that sell them cheap?

I have same problem on my 93 Sentra.

So my conclusion is that blower motor resistors are common problems in Nissan.

They seem to be relatively common in A32s, yes.

Part number is 27150-1E405, $31.03 from Courtesy.

Call up Dave B, he'll get you a much better price if you want new OEM.

Junkyard ones are hit or miss, really.

$40 from AZ.

How do you get to the Blower motor resistors? is it behind the glove box? I have the same problem (fan only works on spd 4). I have access to power resistors so I figured I would just replace them by reading the color code off them. is that feasible?

Yes, I believe up and under the glove box area.

No, you cannot make your own...look at the pic from AZ below. Unless you want to fashion your own way of 1, keeping the resistors in place and 2, fastening the harness connector...
