good way to get a 5sp 4th gen

Ok i have a '96 GLE and might wait a year or so until i descide on a new car cuz i love my max. However the auto tranny really isn't that fast so I was wondering do you guys think it would be worth it to go to a dealership selling a used 5sp 4th gen and try to trade my GLE for a GXE or SE with a 5sp tranny? I'd assume if they had similar miles I could get away with only paying the dealer maybe a few hundred dollars rather then shell out over 1 grand to do a 5 sp. conversion, plus you'd think the average person would find a GLE more appealing then a GXE or SE with a stick shift.

I love everything about my maxima except the auto. Therefore, I'm doing the 5spd conversion. But then again, i'm gonna get a great deal on it.

Think resale value guys, would ANYBODY want to buy a max that was converted? I mean common unless you want to keep your maxima until its worth virtually nothing i'd stay away from the conversion.

If they keep the parts from the swap, they can put it back in at time of sale to get the extra value a automatic has. But then again, seems there are alot of people buying Max's with 5 speeds. Might be easy to sell with the 5 speed.
