Was on the highway left lane coming up to a red light when a red 4door acura 3.2 TL comes up on my right cuts me off and jams on his breaks for the light...so im like what a Di*...So when the light turned green I figured he would nail it so I did to...It was down hill for about .3 of a mile and I hung with him all the way down the hill and after it flatened out... We got up to about 110 but I had to shut it down cause it was way too crazy

yea its because he had that stupid VTECH and that darn 45HP more than your car and quicker 1/4 time than ur car Stock to Stock. I Hate that crap man, damn Hondas.

What are you talking about??? TL is NOT faster in the 1/4 mile than a stock 5-speed maxima Stock TLs (NOT TL-S's) run mid to high 15's (more likely high) and a stock 5-speed max usually runs low 15s and a few have even run 14s...BONE stock. plus a TL does not have 45 more hp than a stock 4th gen max...it's 35 HP...and it's VTEC...not VTECH.....you should know these things considering you seem to have an accord per your screenname.

 

The guy had some heavy 18" wheels, but I don't count that as an excuse. I kept right head and head with him until 90 MpH, and then we pulled off. I though he got a bad start but he didn't say it so I didn't care! And I am a stock auto! TL-S is another story...that b u r n e d me...

Bahha, its funny, on one side of the garage I have an I30, on the other, a 3.2TL. I've seen both driven both, but i really like my I30, mostly dues to the mods I've don, but bone stock I would have to go with a 5-speed I30. Have you been to there forums (TL)? There nothing but a bunch of brownnosed 20 year olds with to much money. I'm glad im here not there cause their just a bunch of A$$holes. Maxima's RULE!!!!!!!

I bet you he was pretty embarassed with his kid in the car that I hung with him that well...If I had ***** the size of tomatoes I would have brought it a little faster in 4th ... then dumped it in 5th and gained on him alittle more and maybe even pulled next to him, but I would have been doin like 130...cause when he rolled by me right by the light he gave me a BAD LOOK...a**hole I cant wait to see him again

 

If all you are gonna do is post useless crap like this, and say that every Maxima v. Honda race is a lie then we would prefer if you stuck to the Honda boards.

Get a TL, come to my house, and well go out to highway and I'll show you how I hang with you...and another thing...Maximas are pretty damn good cars if I can hang with a brand new TL (about $50,000) probably 4,000 miles on it...and I have 100K miles on my maxi and my car is 10 g's...do the math

I've never had a problem trouncing on v6 Accords, but I haven't raced the TL's yet. Still waiting........

Grow up everyone. I hate it when people do not have their stats and facts straight. First, a stock TL-S will do 14.7 in the 1/4 (Motor Trend 5/01. Next they r not 50K cars. A TL stickers at 29k and a
TL-S is only 31K. (Not that much more than a new Maxima) Face it, everyone else's car is a POS compared to your own if it looks like it cost less than yours (ie: Honda Civic) and if it is more expensive (a BMW), everyone brags about how it's tooooo expensive compared to your own. Stop your whining. No matter how fast your car is there is someone else with a faster ride so put it back in your pants. Maxima's and I-30's are very good cars, I like mine alot, but stop this crap about who's is better.
