Should I change my short ram warm air into a true cold air intake?

The only advantages I think I would get is...

1. a little more quiet which could be good, because my short ram is so effing loud it is louder then my catback

2.colder air a little more HP...

but I also heard u get a little less throttle response over a short ram... Is that true? I never put a true cold air on my car b4, but I am willing to see the advantages if it is something worth it... Plus my K&N short ram is getting gross and even after a cleaning it is gross. It also is in a pretty crappy area imo.

Also I was thinking of getting maybe Injen, but not sure yet, I want something good and I might by an anti hyrostatic valve if I put this pipe low.

Or if I want something a little more true deal... I could go for Place Racing or Cattman, but Cattman is overpriced... so I dunno...

the injen is not a true cold air design. Sometimes you can find the place Racing on this board f/s, but they are getting pretty rare. Also, PR requires that you cut a hole in the fender. Just see if you can purchase a new filter from jim Wolfe or whatever and that will clean up the look of your filter. And stay out of WOT. that will help with the noise. I have a stillen WAI and it works fine. At times it's loud, but I stay out of the bottom end of the throttle and all is fine.

I used to have a Place Racing CAI. I went there and picked it up myself. It was made to order. Aside from having to cut a 4" diameter in my engine compartment, the install is relatively easy. I also had the Stillen exhaust and Y-Pipe on my dearly departed 97. The whole setup was absolutely frightening. If you mashed it, you can feel the noise. Sounded great, and I actually felt a noticeable difference in the butt dyno.

I had drove my car in the rain, etc., and the only downside I see is having to remove the fender-well plastic shield to get to the filter for cleaning.
