So im putting a new non lsd 5th gen tranny in my car and i need both axle seals... Having a hell of a time finding them! Called the 3 nissan dealers close buy and gave them part numbers and all they have is the passenger side one. Then two of the three said that i just need two of them. I told them no, the drivers side seal has a differnt part # and they wanted to argue with me and kept saying i must not have had the correct information and where did i get my part #'s ect so i asked him if he wanted to buy me a new transmission aswell when it leaks from his wrong part he wants to sell me, he says back "sure lets put that on the order aswell". So i hung up on him, ugh i HATE dealers.

Ive also called autozone, advance auto parts, and checker auto with no luck. Napa seems to only have the passenger side one aswell according to there website. I need this seal by tomorrow so no time to ship or i would have ordered it online already. Please help me locate where i can get one.

 

Order them from Nissan and wait for them to come in.

Dont use an aftermarket seal.

i just ordered both axle seals a month ago. got them in a bout a week. good service, the guy called me asking if i had VLSD or not just to confirm and YES the passenger and driver are different sizes. i have the part numbers on hand right here if you need them but it sounds like you already have them.

checked with two more dealers and no go on the seal. Garentee if i order a drivers side from the local dealer it will take a month or more to come in. Last time i ordered anything it was a lisense plate bracket and they said i would get it in 5 days well wound up being 35 days

 

YES! There is a god lol I finally found a dealership that had both in stock! Although its a 45min drive from me lmao it will be worth it. Im going to pick up my new 5th gen trans tomorrow at a junkyard in milwaukee early morning and hopfully make it back up to greenbay to get the seals by 2pm when they close. Can we say road trip?? thats about 5 hours driving right there but my car is finally gonna shift smooth and not leak out its *** from the drivers side from blown diff bearings lmao. also swapping to a 5th gen clutch setup insted of the autozone the previous owner put in, installing hotshot headers, finishing up a new lower core support install aswell as HID kit and wideband to finally street tune the machine. AH, feels good to have everything finally fall into place for once.

i actually got about the same stuff going on with my car in a few weeks with my car down here in madison.

over spring break (unless i get time before then) im going to replace the tranny on my max. the tranny i have now leaks out of the passenger axle seal but since i have a tranny in great shape to put in ive been destroying the current one by driving it with no oil.

when i replace my tranny and new seals i also got a stillen flywheel, 5th gen clutch, amsoil gl-4 synthetic, and a underdrive pulley with the related belts and new crankshaft oil seal.

Im excited to do it cause my car will finally run smooth and be a little quicker, its just it sucks i have no time with school and work right now until spring break.

yikes - stay away from those dealerships that said they use the same seal on both sides... it takes 3 seconds in the computer to look it up and tell that they have different part numbers. glad you found the seals. good luck.

 

good news, i got the seals thismorning at 7am when the dealer opened.. Took the 2.5 hour trip to pick up the tranny i was supposed to get and guess what? It would up being automatic!!!! UGH pure idiots! Now im looking for a differnt trans that doesnt have 150K on it... seems to be hard and its really pissing me off cause i just paid $85 in gas thismorning for no reason.

 

btw i ordered my core support from worldpartsexpress great guys there! Although they did not have the drivers side seal in stock either they would have had to wait for it to get to there from nissan ect.
