Removing ENTIRE Dashboard from vehicle.

Ok, I got the whole center console out, the guage cluster with bezel, the steering wheel top and bottom covers, the fuse cover at your knees. Now I dunno what to do next. If anyone wants to know, I'm taking out the entire dashboard so I can have easy access to the firewall as well as taking out the Dash harness for a full 3.5 swap. Thanks.

The glove box needs to come out. 2 screws at the bottom, 2 inside at the top, and 2 holding the latch. Then the A pillars need to come out, IIRC. After that, Im not sure.

By center console, you mean radio, a/c etc...?

to take off the entire dash you need to pop out the side vents and the little vents above the vents that arent really vents...lol...there are screws behind those to take off the big main piece.

its pretty self explanatory, just feel around for where it is held on tight and there should be a screw near by

Goldtooth, I believe you will need a a T-50 tamper-proof torx bit to remove 4 (or possibly 6) bolts underneath the dash. It's been a while since I have done it myself but I am almost positive it is a T-50 size. The bolts that I am referring to are up in front of where the driver's right knee & passenger's left knee would be positioned if seated in the vehicle.

I believe so....like I said, it has been a while.
I got my bits (12 pk. assorted sizes) from a no name tool shop in CT for $7.00. Never once failed me.

the little vents that blow on the driver and passenger side window by the mirror area? or the front vents for people in the car?

I got the security T50 or T55, are you referring to the 6 tamper-proof T50 bolts that are holding the passenger side airbag? is there any more on the driver side?

Why are you removing the entire dash to do the full 3.5 swap?
You certainly do not need to remove the original A32 main harness either.

I want to get easy access to all the wiring, especially for the hack job alarm install someone did before me. Did you just cut off the connectors you needed from the 4th gen dash harness?

That's alright, I got many sizes.

I think you are getting your harnesses mixed up.
The only connectors I cut off of the A32 main harness were the three for the gauge cluster. I only did that because I swapped in the A33B cluster several months before I started the actual engine swap.
It is the A32 engine control harness that you will be cutting several connectors off of if you want your A33B main patch harness to be PnP.

Hmmm? wow, I don't know myself anymore...lol
I am going to be putting in a 6 spd guage cluster as well....

So, I don't have to touch the dash harness at all? I am going to be swapping the guage cluster though, is the wiring for swapping the cluster here?
http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...64&postcount=9

Why does it say pruned main dash harness? I thought the engine harness is separate from the dash harness?

When referring to a specific harness, always specify whether it is from an A32, A33B or A34.

No, the cluster wiring is not part of the harness I have shown. For wiring the cluster, it is probably easier to do it the same way I did. Just cut off the three A32 cluster connectors and wire the A33B ones in.

The A33B engine harness will be left almost fully intact. That picture is what remains of the A33B main harness.

Do you remember if it is the same pin for pin? and are they the same colors? Should I take my time checking the FSMs ( )
