The only one commonly used is the Pathfinder throttlebody from previous gen. Pathfinders that had the 3.5 (not the 3.3 or 3.0). Theoretically you could put just about anything on with the proper adapter plate, but even the Pathfinder one will net you nothing but throttle response on an NA Maxima, especially with the stock intake manifold.

Why would you want a 90mm TB? Especially if you're staying NA.

Nope. Also, the injectors that come stock are way more than you'll ever need for any NA setup.

Our stock throttlebody: ~62mm (outlet)
Pathfinder 3.5: 70mm
Q45: 90mm

TB and spacer?

What if someone ran a 3.5 path tb on a vq30 and then also ran a th spacer? Would that plus tunning add a few ponies? Or am I beating a dead horse now?

No, you will gain nothing with a Pathfinder throttle body, spacer kit or not.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but PF throttlebodies are also quite expensive. Hefty fee for no gains.

its definitely possible too have too big of a TB. I used to have a 97 tbird with the 4.6 litre that I put a 70mm TB on, and I lost a good bit of my of bottom end power. and gained a little top end. with a smaller engine like the 3.0, stock would be best unless its boosted. 70mm is WAY too big for a 3 litre. an engine will only use as much air as it needs. a smaller opening speeds up air flow, too big and it slows down

Are you trying to directly link displacement and cylinder head flow?

what? no im not im sayin that. a 3.0 like that in the max, does not use as much air flow as a 70mm TB would allow. at least not in basically stock trim. maybe if you did some p&p, then it would be beneficial.

And these days, it's getting to be nearly as cheap as what a Pathfinder throttlebody + an adapter plate would cost.
