CAI template

Hey people,

I bought a Ebay/Bomz CAI (this kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-96...spagenameZWDVW). I found a cutting template on a cardomain site ( http://www.cardomain.com/ride/711695 bottom of page) and I was wondering it that template will work for the Bomz kit.

Has anyone used that template before for this kit? I know I could just guess where to cut, but I'd rather not.

Please do not post about CAI's and how good/bad they are. That is not what this is about.

Thanks,
David

It looks good but my question is how would you print that out to its original, exact size. That cardomain picture is much smaller than the original page it was on.

All I have to do is save it and then open it with a program, like Window picture and fax viewer and print to full page, I've actually already done it.

Doesnt have to be perfect. There will be some play in the intake. Just get it close, and you will be fine.

I have a Bomz CAI and I didn't use a template. I just mocked everything up and then saw where it was "suppose" to be then I took a 3 inch hole saw and a dremel to it to clean up the edges. I also painted it around with some black paint to make sure the metal wouldn't rust.

Yes I know I could do that, but I want to know if anyone has used this template for the Bomz kit.

When I was using the Bomz CAI, I used that template and it worked. If I had to do it again I would just line it up, make a marking and drill the hole.

Use the free search feature...http://forums.maxima.org/search.php?do=process

But basically, it's good but needs a better quality filter.

What more do you need to know? I just confirmed for you that the template works just fine with the Bomz CAI. The only problem I had was that I drilled the hole at night and it was kind of a pain to hold the paper down, mark the spot and drill the hole. I guess a better way to have done it would have been to cut out the diameter of the hole on the paper, lay the paper down, use a marker to mark the hole on the car, remove the paper and then drill it.

Yes I know, I just don't want to turn this thread into another thread about CAI and whether or not they are beneficial.

BTW- do you have any pictures of the install/finished product? I've seen other CAI's but I don't know if they are Bomz or not.

Injec CAIs suck. Stillen Cones are WAY overpriced. Read before you post newbie, he already said that he does NOT want suggestions about what to buy.

Dave H, the BOMZ kit and most other ebay CAIs are exactly the same. So unless the person has a true Place Racing kit, then the pictures you see are exactly what yours is. Also, I think even the PR kit is the same.

Yes I used that same template and I got my Intake from ebay, and it works out great. Just line up the holes and start drilling away!

Thanks for that. I would've said something very similar.
