Bucking/hesitation between 30mph - 50mph

And the issues continue with my '99 Maxima.....noticed that cruising between 30mph - 50mph and trying to accellerate, the car will hesitate a little and buck, best way to describe it is the tranny doesn't know whether to stay in 2nd. gear or upshift to 3rd. Seems to happen mostly when slowing down from 60mph+ in top gear and the car downshifts, then trying to speed back up again.

Automatic transmission obviously. Any ideas? Thanks!

If it was the coilpacks, wouldn't it do it all the time, not just from decelleration, then accellerating again?

Well it could be your coil packs not all just one. There might be a torn boot on one of them, also it might be the actual unit. I would also recommend to check you injectors because they might be getting stuck either in the open or close position.

My '96 did the same thing, it was the tranny. Had the tranny replaced, and all is well again.

It's probably a coil pack, especially if it's happening more while going uphill.

After a while a coil pack tends to melt or to have holes appear on them. It doesn't have to throw a code to be a coil pack. Only when the coil pack gets bad enough does a code show up. Mine threw a code when the coil pack was actually beginning to melt.

Symptoms of a bad coil pack start out with misses while sitting in gear at a stop light.(The car shakes.) This will start to get worse as time goes on, then you will start to feel your car buck as you are going up a hill at about 40 mph or below.(This differs based on the severity of the wear and tear on a coil pack.) It goes beyond that if left intended, if you gun it eventually the SES/CEL light will start to flash on and off.(Indicating an obvious misfire.) If you wait long enough eventually the light will stay on and will throw a code based on which cylinder the faulty coil pack is located.
