LCA Bushings/sway bar bushings
Hi everyone,
I want to change the above bushings in my 104,000 mile 96 Maxima. I am having an issue with the steering wheel moveing side to side gently when you take your hands off the wheel. It is not a violent shaking at all. Can you give me some pointers on changing the bushings? What bushings should I order? Is it a hard job? Will I notice any difference in the car? I have pasted a link below, are they a good place to get the bushings? What parts should I get? Is energy the best to go with? How about their prices?

Thanks,
Zack

That's where I got mine. I got the control arm set, sway bar bushings and the sway bar endlink bushings. Basically everything available for a 95-99. They had great service and quick shipping. Prices are pretty good too.
I don't know if these will solve your problem....but I can tell you that you will feel a difference.
When I was done, Immediately my steering felt so precise and responsive. Cornering also improved. The bushings just made the car more predictable which in turn made me more confident driving it. I don't know if this matters to you, but it also reduced wheel hop a good amount.
The install wasn't too bad. It's pretty straight forward, and if you are mechanically inclined you can pretty much figure it out. Just use common sense and learn by doing....The only thing I couldn't do was press out two of the stock bushings. You will have to take them to a shop and get them pressed out. Once the old bushings are out, just grease the crap out of the new ones, and put everything back together.
I have some pics of disassembly somewhere. I'll try to dig them up if you need.
