Rear caliper piston won't screw in

Hi. I am changing my pads and I cannot get the rear piston to screw back in place. I have a tool from Napa for it. I have been at it for 10 minutes and it won't budge. It is moving but it is not compressing in. I need some help with this.

if it turns, it is going in. slowly. Just keep turning. It wont compress as fast as the front.

Does the tool you have push inwards as it turns? If it doesn't you need to apply pressure inwards as you turn the tool.

If that doesn't work, you will need to replace the caliper.

Frozen rear calipers is common on Maximas. Maybe why it isn't screwing in.

Just replace the calipers while you're there. After the core exchange, they really don't cost that much.

Or pop the piston out, and clean the insides, cuz it's NASTY in there.

yea you have to push the piston in as you turn it in...a big C clamp and pliers worked for me.

just wondering, how much do a pair of rear calipers cost? I need to replace mine soon. They are causing some drag.

One rear caliper from auto zone is $82. I got one from Pull-A-Part junk yard which was $13 with a 30 day warranty.

It kinda sucks Nissan never really did anything about the calipers being teh suck... I mean screw type is such bad tech, I have no clue why it was ever made besides better brake power, but not like it matters cause your front brakes are being used more anyway.
