AC IPS bearing

Well ... my commpressor is making a fuss lot of noise so I ordered my new bearing for the input shaft .... $17.50 from a place in Oklahoma called Auto Air OK .... fond them on the web. Cheapest price I could find ... and I am not complaining since the whole compressor is like $290+, but mine works ok .. just whining and anoying.

Thought I'd share ... post if ya like or PM me for more info.

Also, anyone that has done the bearing themself, how hard is it - can it be done on the car - how long did it take?

Cheers!

I'm having the same problem I think...mine is more of a clicking sound tho. not clicking like from an impact, but from friction. like a chk chk chk...ok sorry I just can't describe it well enough. Anyway, i'm wondering how hard the replacement is also..

judging by the writeup it just sounds like a matter of getting the bastard pulled, then press out the old bearing then press in the new one. and reassemble

Could you let me know which bearing model you purchased? How can I tell if my car AC compressor pulley uses the same or different bearing? Thanks.
