torque converter clutch fault code
wanted to know why my car stutters at like 35-55mph sometimes...i took it to my electrical auto guy to test ignt. coils and plugs but he said they where fine...but there is something wrong with the torque converter clutch...he said that it pops out of "lock-up"...he said its not bad for the tranny just annoying...is this true?? also is there any perfomence mods to replace it with???

If I understood what your mechanic said correctly he means that the torque converter doesn't lock properly with the drive shaft on the front wheels, meaning your wheels are spinning at a different RPM than the enigne, which is the entire point of a transmission. When the torque converter locks your wheels travel at the same number of RPM's as the engine, so it has to do less work to maintain the same speed or accelerate.
While it may be annoying and not detrimental to the tranny it does make your engine rev harder than it has to, putting more stress on the engine and creating more wear and tear. It's not a big problem, not by a long shot, but if you live with it for years it could lead to more maintainance than usual, lower gas mileage and a decrease in performance.
