loss of power...can it be my valve cover gaskets?
5th gen injectors won't connect to the 4th gen harness or fit the 4th gen fuel rail. Check the resistance of your injectors to determine if any of them might be bad. NGK Copper plugs will be fine (those are almost certainly the $1.99 ones). Just gap them to spec (I think it's 0.039-0.043)
Honestly, the main difference lies with respect to change intervals, with coppers requiring the most frequent changes. I didn't feel much of a difference between the coppers and platinums, other than the more empty feeling in my pockets.
Those ghost codes, you didnt get them by manually checking your ECU? I have same problem, sudden loss of power but when I check my ECU for codes it gives 0505 which means NO Problems.
thats not true man.... nissan is full of s.hit... you cant damage that sensor with 87 octane.. it has noting to do with it..
.. the ONLY way i have ever seen this stupid thing go bad is by having a crack in the plastic cover... the material shifts and the sensor is no good..

Agreed, that's how mine was, that's how the one on my Dad's Subaru was (I wouldn't be surprised if its almost exactly the same sensor, they looked identical), and that's what it sounds like from everyone on this forum and other Maxima sites that have had to change their knock sensors.
I doubt that running 87 octane could damage the knock sensor. The knock sensor backs off timing when it detects knock to keep the engine from knocking. And besides, its a sensor attached to the outside of the engine....
I call BS on the whole gas damaging the knock sensor theory...
EDIT: Whoa that's nuts f550maranello, I made my screen name like 9 years ago based on the F 360 Modena, lol we have the same color Maxima too....
